An OSG arthroscopy refers to an endoscopy of the upper ankle joint. An optic (approx. 4 mm in diameter) is inserted into the joint, which is filled with fluid. A light source and a camera ensure that the joint can be inspected from the inside on a monitor.
The aim is to establish a diagnosis, remove free joint bodies or the joint abrasion, smooth out cartilage defects, ablate inflamed joint skin sections or bony attachments.
